Nursery Staff

Dr. Diane Keister- Director

Dr. Keister, former nursery school and elementary school teacher, reading specialist, elementary principal, and director of curriculum, serves as the director of the nursery school. She holds a B.A. from Gettysburg College, a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and Reading Specialist Certification at Kutztown University and a Doctorate in Education at Lehigh University. With her background as a reading specialist, Dr. Keister has a strong interest in literacy. She enjoys reading to, playing with, and teaching young children, especially her four granddaughters.

Lynne Beitler- Teacher of the Tadpoles, Pollywogs, and Froglets (Three-Year-Olds)

Mrs. Beitler teaches the Three-Year-Old class and the Together Time for Twos at Holy Spirit Nursery School. She has been teaching here for 21 years. Mrs. Beitler is a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She has experience working with the children, enjoys working with their parents, and is now enjoying her grandchildren, Alexa and Gage.

Monica Reinert- Teacher Assistant of the Tadpoles, Pollywogs, and Froglets

Mrs. Reinert has attended the Lehigh Carbon Community College. She has substituted as an instructional assistant in East Penn School District and has volunteered as a Girl Scout leader. She is a former nursery school mom. She enjoys watching her children’s sporting events and traveling with her family.

Tonya Schantz- Teacher of the Panda and Brown Bear Cub Classes (Four-Year-Olds and Younger Five-Year-Olds)

Mrs. Schantz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Shippensburg University and a Masters of Education (Reading Specialist) from Kutztown University. She taught kindergarten, first and second grades. She taught reading as a Reading Recovery and Instructional Support teacher. She returns to Holy Spirit where she was a nursery school mom and also led the Mom and Me Program for several years. Her favorite things include a day at the beach and watching her children play sports.

Joni Ott- Teacher Assistant for the Panda and Brown Bear Cub Classes

Mrs. Ott studied at Kutztown University and her previous work experience was in the medical field. During the ten years prior to her time with the nursery school, she stayed home with her children. When her children were younger, she took an active role in their school’s PTO as well as volunteering for the boy and girl scouts. Now she spends her time watching them participate in school sports. Her perfect day would be spent at the beach with a good book.

Mara Mackiewicz- Teacher of the Polar Bear Cub Class (Five-Year-Olds)

Mrs. Mackiewicz is a graduate of King’s College with a B.A. in elementary education. She has taught second grade and pre-school in the Mountaintop area. She has been a substitute teacher and Busy Beaver teacher at Holy Spirit. She is a former nursery school mom and has volunteered at Vacation Bible School and in many areas at her children’s school, Wescosville Elementary School. She enjoys reading, gardening and time with her own children.

Lisa Schreck- Teacher Aide for the Polar Bear Cub Class

Mrs. Schreck holds an Associates’ Degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College and is working on a degree in Elementary Education at Cedar Crest College. She has served in leadership roles at Perkins and with Avon. She is a nursery school parent and former substitute teacher. She has worked with children at her children’s elementary school and as a volunteer Vacation Bible School teacher at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit.
